Entrecard to rollout 3rd party ads, cash for credits

If you’re not an Entrecarder, this may be the time to look to Entrecard as a viable monetization of your blog.
Sometime this weekend, they expect to roll out the first phase of adding third-party ads to the Entrecard system. While the details are sparse, a few things are coming to light.
After considerable vocal uproar by the members, Graham and team have re-worked part of their plans. Your Entrecard widget must be no more than two scrolls from the top of the browser. I’m hoping they’ll refine this a bit, as I’m sure there are huge differences in each browser depending upon size, resolution, open tool-bars, etc.
The other major change is how they will handle the members maintaining ad control over their blogs. There are a number of bloggers who utilize the Entrecard system to drive traffic to their “today.com” blogs. That group of bloggers may not have any third-party advertising as today.com uses the ad revenue they generate to pay the bloggers.
As for me, I’m really looking forward to earning more credits and exchanging those credits for cash. Apparently the exchange value will fluctuate based on the amount of paid advertising available to be shown.
Graham posted a blog article reassuring us that the ads will be in good taste, will not promote anything that isn’t family friendly, and will not promote gambling, casinos, on line pharmacies, or anything with “adult content”. They will also run all landing pages through “CopyScape” to ensure there is no scraped or stolen content.
One thing that will potentially affect me will be how I handle the “Loyal Advertiser Program” in the future. Until the new platform rolls out, I’ll be unable to address any impact. It’s entirely possible I’ll have to scrap that program before the end of the month.
I suspect that because of the cash for credits I will spend more time surfing if it proves profitable. As it is now, I combine Adgitize surfing with Entrecard to get about 50 drops a day.

Thanks for the tips about this. I really need to look into Adgitize - if it’s anything like entrecard, which I’ve been impressed with, I’d like to add this to my blog.
