Entrecard Mod dares to speak out
Posted By admin on April 15, 2009
I’ve been expressing my displeasure with the actions of the Moderation Team who saw fit to delete one of my blogs because I sent a thank-you note to an advertiser, which they considered to be spam.
Now, I don’t really know this team other than to know that Andy is 19 years old. I believe I read somewhere that Ragin Rev (Matt) is 25. I’ve got no idea about Len.
What I do know it the level of maturity exhibited by this team, and the lack of response by Graham, whom I contacted directly on Twitter lead me to believe Entrecard is not a viable program for the long term.
There’s been a thread going with a poll regarding the MarketPlace, the latest incarnation of the old “Entrecard Shop”. So far, there have been 12 responses to the pollĀ “Are you having any problems with entrecard market?” Responses: 11 yes and 1 no.
There’s quite a thread attached and I posted my thoughts too, as I’ve never successfully added an item to the list.
Here is my total post:
I haven’t even been able to list an item as I keep getting some wierd “We have a major error” issue. I too, have sent in a help desk ticket with no response.IMHO, the mods are way too busy with things that aren’t their business.

Beryl, UTIf I could show you still another way to have your blog seen for free, and NOT have to load any advertising, would you take a look?

those things being?
That’s my point. There are very serious issue with Entrecard. The marketplace is virtually unusable for a number of us, and yet the Mods have time to go out and place ads just hoping to see if you’re actually treating your advertiser like a customer, and then summarily deleting your blog if you send a thank-you note with an invitation to learn more about the very business from where they purchased ads.
Graham says one of the criteria for ranking higher in the “cash-out algorithm is to list items in the Marketplace and purchase items from there.
I personally believe all the energy should be pointed towards getting the Marketplace fully operational, answering the support ticket, and providing some kind of assurance that until this Marketplace is fully functional, it won’t be used to consider the cash-out options.
It took a while, but Andy finally responded:

I would also like to know what things your referring to.

Apparently, I wasn’t the only one thinking your “thank-you” note was spam. You were also reported twice in the User Reports and Received no action because I had already handled your situation. Even though our spam policy says I should have deleted all of the reported blogs.

That sucks that things are going wrong for entrecard. It’s still a great concept…considering I’ve found plenty of great blogs that introduced me into many new things. Hope things work out for you.
Hi Christina, be sure to grab my RSS feed, as I’ll be writing more and more about things that move your business forward. After all, that’s what is most important, I’m sure.
I’ve had quite a few messages from different advertisers thanking me for advertising. I never considered them spam.
