About Shari

With all the blogs available about how to make money on the Internet, this one has a slightly different twist.

Shari ThomasYou see, I first “got online” back in the ’90’s when I had an honest-to-goodness brick-and-mortar business. I hooked up with folks who had catalogs. They liked what we offered and listed us. Bingo! We got sales from all over the USA and even did some International business… by the container load!

After retiring, and bouncing around for a while, I rebuilt my “online presence” in another way.

The very first online program I found that worked exceptionally well, and still works very well was MPAM (Massive Passive Advertising Machine). It has morphed (along with the web) into an awesome place to learn how to market products (and yourself) online.

Now, I don’t have to tell you the obvious… but I’m going to anyways…

You must have your own domain, and you must have your own web site (or at least blog) hosted by a real Internet Provider, not some freebie provider who insists on controlling your efforts with their own advertising. My choice… Kiosk Web Hosting. I’ve been with them for over five years, and wouldn’t consider leaving if you beat me with an ugly stick.

When you build a list, you’re really building “more than a list”. You’re entering into relationships with folks who’d like to know more about you, what you offer, and how you can help them get what they want. That means you need a “communications” package.

For “face-to-face” real-time conferencing my choice is Hot Conference. Developed by the good folks at Kiosk Web Hosting, it’s affordable, flexible, and incredibly easy-to-use. You can get one room, or a five room package, and you can even full customize it with your own private labeling.

Over the years, I’ve tried several advertising programs, but have spent little money.

Most recently, Entrecard is my favorite “advertising and networking” tool. It’s made exclusively for bloggers. While still a very young company, the future is incredibly bright. Oh, and did I mention… it’s free!
