Why Entrecard works for me across my blogs
It’s been nearly a year since I first heard about Entrecard. It took me a couple of months to realize this was the right traffic generation/blogger community for me to join. Once I did, I spent countless hours “dropping”, reaching the 300 daily drop limit a couple of times.
There was only one problem… time spent dropping was time away from tending (make that writing) my blogs. Yes, I have more than one blog. I have five blogs that each use Entrecard to generate traffic and find new readers.
Here’s why EC works so well for me. I could care less about SEO. I’m a writer, not a techie. I write for my readers, not for search engines, so I have to generate traffic differently than folks who pay attention to keywords, tag clouds, etc. I choose to do it peer-to-peer, and that’s why EC works so well for me.
Do I have tons of traffic? No, but I have folks who spend time on my various blogs and when appropriate, leave me comments. I’m quite sure that over winter, when I have more time to “drop” and write, my traffic will increase substantially.
Entrecard is what YOU make of it.
If you’re a “speed dropper”, then you’ll likely get a lot of drops, but few folks who stop to read your blog.
If, like me, you love to discover new blogs, you’ll attract the same kind of audience.
Even with all the “first year growth” issues, Entrecard continues to lead the way for me in quality traffic generation, new readers, unique ideas, and new friends.

Sorry mate, but the “bustling activity” in the posts below seem to contradict your point.
Entrecard brings junk traffic period. The bounce rate and length of visit are in the awful zone and the minute you stop dropping, the traffic vanishes altogether.
Wake up and smell the coffee. Sites like StumbleUpon and Twitter are much more decent choices, especially if you put some effort into it.

Thanks George, I appreciate your opinion. I’ve never really gotten the hang of StumbleUpon, and I’m just now trying to figure out whether or not Twitter will work for my needs.
It’s important that you use many different ways to push (even pull) traffic to your site, and for me, Entrecard has been at least as effective as any other method.
Again, it’s a matter of putting in solid effort and developing “web relationships”. Drop and run is going to get you drop and run. Stop, read, comment will get you participation in your blog.

I have found some great blogs through entrecared that I ordinarily would not have found. I think it is a great site especially for new blogs.
EC is definitely for new blogs , waiting to be discovered.
I actually found your blog while dropping EC card.
Aside from Entrecard, another advertising network I’m using right now is Adgitize. Same like EC wherein you earn credits or points when you visit another member’s blog, BUT the difference is that on Adgitize they convert your points to cold CASH at the end of the month and send you the payment on PayPal!
